With its near-direct quotation of Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius and its clear allusion to the later track "Bloodmemories," this 16-second spoken-word introduction kicks off The Signal Cycle. As one of two songs on the record using leet-speak, or the internet trend to replace certain letters with numbers, it shares a similar title to the final track on the album, "Vibr8."

The waveform on The Signal Cycle's cover art is the visual depiction of a recording where Waters recited the same Aurelius quote.
