Tora!
Lyrics and music by Alex Waters
いち, に, さん, 虎!
I almost can't believe what I have done
And you could make this easy: just turn and run
It’s not that I
Don’t love the fight
It’s just that I
(Love when you fight back)
Flying in circles
Losing my way
Oxygen fading
Get lost for days
Flying in circles
Drawn to the waves
Conscience is screaming
Get lost for days
I look into your eyes and I feel the pull
You’re nothing like the rest, you are mythical
It’s not that I
Don’t love the fight
It’s just that I
(Love when you fight back)
Flying in circles (flying in circles)
Trying to change (trying to change)
The motor is screaming (it's screaming, it's screaming, it's screaming)
Get lost for days (get lost for days)
Flying in circles (flying in circles)
Caught in your wake (Caught in your wake)
Fire over Eden (Fire over Eden)
Get lost for days
("I think we're going down. No use asking for help, I'm thousands of miles from where I grew up, in hostile, enemy territory. I'll meet the ocean with an open heart, but could I have saved myself?")
Flying in circles (Flying in circles)
Hands on your face (Hands on your face)
Everyone leaving (Everyone leaving)
Get lost for days (Get lost for days)
All of your colors (All of your colors)
Turning to gray (Turning to gray)
The signal is screaming (Ah!)
Get lost for days!

Gaining its title from the Japanese word for "tiger," and from the 1970 film Tora! Tora! Tora!, Waters combines romance with the story of what appears to be a kamikaze pilot. If speculation is to be believed (in the study of Circa 1996, it often isn't), the fact that this song follows another Second World War story in "Bloodmemories" is no coincidence. But, worth noting: the narrator on this song is operating on the other side of the planet, in the Pacific Theater, and on the other side of the conflict.
This selection also stands out for its use of an air-raid siren, and for counting-off the band with the Japanese words for "one, two, three."
